Why It Is Time To Change Your Blog Approach

The way the key search engines are working to analyse sites is changing.
For years, Google and others have been trying to find ways of enhancing their search returns when people look things up online, in a bid to improve the data presented to customers when they pop in a search request.
In the past, search engines have relied almost exclusively on methods such as backlinks and open keyword data to judge how relevant a particular site may be in relation to the types of search queries users enter to get their information.
This led to a huge number of spam operators purchasing huge numbers of backlinks and flooding the web with as many indexed pages as possible in an effort to gain a higher ranking and more traffic.
The problem for all search engines was a simple one – how do they assess the quality of content, online?
Without having millions of operators sitting and trawling the web in person to read, analyse and rate every page (which would probably be impossible, never mind time consuming and exceedingly expensive!), there has never been a truly effective way of judging the quality of content.
Despite the technological genius deployed to retrieve relevant results from sites, there has never been a solution found that could match the simple judgment of a Human Being when it comes to ranking the usefulness and interest of a website.
So, Google and others have decided to make some simple changes to improve the way a site’s usefulness is analysed, in an effort to reduce spam, eradicate bulk-purchase indexing, and make their search returns more effective.
It seems that they have finally realised that it is people, rather than technology, that decide on a site’s worth and relevance.
And, the only thing that can make a site useful and interesting is the content it holds.
Because of this, Google et al have made a shift towards content.
This means that pages that are packed with interesting facts, information and great data will finally get the recognition they deserve, while the mass-produced poor-quality sites that have previously gained high rankings through devious spam techniques will have their rankings reduced.
The change is going to happen predominantly through social indicators such as FaceBook mentions, tweets. G+ and shares.
This means that when the mass audience decides to re-post an article, Google appreciates that it is relevant and interesting.
This shift in approach means that content will finally be given the recognition it deserves.
From images to videos to blog articles, your site is now going to be ranked according to how popular it is, and how useful, shareable and interesting it proves to be among your customers.
If you are already a great blogger that writes informative and engaging articles, it means you’ll get the recognition you deserve.
However, for those people out there who have previously relied on link purchases and bulk publishing to generate results, it’s time to change their approach.
This is one of the most positive steps in search engine history.
Blogs now have the opportunity to be judged against real indicators of their usefulness, and the more dedicated, motivated and well-informed site owners will soon find that their efforts are rewarded.
For us, it means we need to be more targeted, determined and consistent than ever before in terms of producing great online content.
Keep your articles relevant to your industry, make them interesting and useful…and Google and others will soon be recognising your effort and making sure it pays off!

8 Reasons Why You Need A Blog

Sometimes, blog owners can lose sight of the reason behind why you have or need a blog.
When we’re faced with a blank screen and an empty head, it can be difficult to remember the value our blogs have when it comes to communicating with our customers, attracting more traffic to our business and getting the search engines to list us as a useful, valid service.
Now and then it can be really useful to go back to basics and remember the rationale behind why you set up your blog in the first place, and take a look at just how many people visit, read, comment and make purchases from you based on what you publish to your site.
Check out the top reasons why your customers have come to expect a blog from you, and the value it can bring to them…
When a customer is looking to weigh up the pros and cons of going with a certain service provider, the more information they can access about the company, the more likely they may be to choose the firm.
In supermarkets, we’re drawn to brand names that we know and trust, and online purchase decisions are no different.
If you have a blog packed with information that is interesting and useful, your customers can follow you online and gain that same sense of trust, familiarity and security that we get when we choose products from brands that we understand and are familiar with.
In this day and age, more people are looking online to find products and services.
Your blog helps you to be easily located amid all the other competitors in your industry.
The more you publish, the easier you are for customers to find and approach for business.
We like making contact with people, and customers feel exactly the same about companies.
When we think of Virgin, we think of Branson.
Apple was Jobs.
Microsoft, Gates.
Giving a real, human voice to your products and services makes your firm more approachable and accessible, and opens the door for your customers to get in touch.
You can write in a completely different style on your blog than you would adopt for the rest of your website.
You can express opinions, use humour and let your personality shine through.
People who look through web sites are usually simply seeking information , whereas when they subscribe to your blog they are also looking to be entertained.
Blogging as a platform allows for a much greater level of personality than your static web pages.
These days, your blog can serve as a conduit to a whole host of other platforms with just one click.
Press a button and you can share your updates to Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and a whole range of other sites and functions.
It’s one of the quickest and easiest ways of getting a strong message out there with no expenditure or effort, so your customers have regular and consistent contact from you.
Sometimes you may find that you have a recurring issue within your business that would take you a whole lot of effort to address, if you didn’t have a blog.
Say for example your customers are all contacting you with the same question?
Instead of addressing each one individually, you can simply pop up a post on your blog that deals with the problem, and prevent the recurring queries which one to one communication would require.
Most marketing tools are very much a one-way stream.
Newsletters, static web pages and leaflets all talk to your customers, without providing an opportunity for them to respond.
Your blog is designed to be interactive and encourage people to get in touch, giving your customers the perfect platform for asking questions, giving feedback and telling you all about what they are looking for, in your product or service.
When you blog regularly, you have the opportunity to structure your posts so that they provide a perfect pathway through your services or products in a clear, simple and accessible way.
Every time you upgrade your offering, offer discounts, or want to encourage your customers to choose a certain solution, all you need to do is blog about it and you’re automatically steering them through the decision-making process and making it easier for them to make a purchase.
In many ways, your blog is there for your customers.
When you write, it’s worth thinking about which one of these eight reasons you are addressing, and tailoring your post to meet some of these needs.
Consistent and regular posts can bring a whole host of mutual benefits, and over time your blog will become a valued and respected resource for anyone looking to find out more about your industry niche, before making a purchase.

How To Structure Your Blog Posts For Maximum Blog Traffic

You want to increase your blog traffic but sometimes, there’s nothing you feel less like doing than sitting down and writing a blog post for your site.
Whether you work in floristry, dentistry, topiary or engineering, at some point you’re going to get to the stage where you’d do anything to get out of writing that post.
You can tell when people whose blog you follow are going through that phase.
Instead of their usual sensible, well-structured and informative article about their chosen industry, they default to popping up a picture with a phrase on it that they’ve been sent by a colleague, which may or may not have some relevance to their field of business.
Or, the blog suddenly goes dormant for a while until they get their creative spark back and can find the energy and will to get going again.
I’ve found that having a set structure for each of your written posts is a really helpful way of avoiding writers block, and also makes sure that the subjects you’re choosing to write about are relevant and informative for your customers.
If you’re floundering in the abyss of blog boredom and struggling to find new subjects, or you simply can’t seem to manage to conjure up a decent article at the moment, try following this structure to see if it will spark off some new ideas and keep you on track…
Your headline has to capture the visitor’s attention. If it doesn’t, the rest of the post will be ignored.
Your blog post content may be the most exhilarating, informative ever but if your headline sucks and doesn’t grab the reader’s attention, all your efforts are wasted.
Powerful tip:
For great inspiration for headlines, look at the front cover of magazines. Don’t some of them make you pick the magazine up and start reading inside?
That’s what you want to happen with your headline. The reader can’t wait to read the rest of the post.
The first section of your post should focus on what the subject is about, and preferably identify an issue for your reader that you are going to resolve.
So, for example if you are writing about floristry, you may have noticed that cut carnations often don’t last very long when they’re popped in to flower arrangements. You can identify why this is an issue, and explain how you can keep your carnations looking fresh!
The second section should deal with the ideal scenario – so, what the situation should be like, when the problem or issue is avoided. For our florist, this could mean that they pop in a couple of paragraphs that show how carnations look when they are flourishing in their arrangement.
Next, think about what the solution may be for the reader.
You’ve identified the problem, stated what the ideal picture would look like, and now it’s time to solve that issue for the reader so that they get to take something away from your blog post and can apply it in to their own business, interest or situation.
Our florist could mention that carnations last longer if you cut above the bump on the stem, and you add a bit of lemonade in to the water when you arrange them, to keep them holding their shape and colour for longer.
Finally, wrap up your article with a short summary that highlights the key points you want your reader to take away with them.
It’s also worth thinking about selling at this point.
If you have a product or service which can help, you can safely pop it in to the summary without having done a ‘hard sell’ that detracts from your content. Our florist could mention that he or she has a special plant food that makes carnations stay vibrant for weeks, and put in a link to the product.
And the last thing…ask a question. It can encourage your visitors to comment.
If you stick to these steps, your blog posts will be much more focussed, and you’ll always be giving your visitors something worthwhile to read.
Start off by working out what your visitors may be struggling with, and what you can help them out on.
From there, the rest of the article will follow naturally.
This is the format that you expect when you visit the blogs you find most interesting and useful, and it’s easy to mirror the structure to get your writing back on target.
That way your visitors will return time and time again!
If you’re struggling to write great blog articles to gain more blog traffic, you can always consider outsourcing to a creative expert. Get in touch with me and I’ll point you in the right direction to tackle the problem, resolve it and prevent it from happening again!

6 Tips To Optimize Images For SEO To Increase Blog Traffic

Image optimization really works to improve blog traffic. Lots of webmasters search images from Google Image Search to use them into their blog posts. So, if you have well optimized images into your blog post then it will give you two benefits. Let's go to the tutorial to learn some helpful tips about image optimization for SEO.

Image Optimization Tips

Below are some very important tips to optimize images before uploading them into blog posts. These tips will improve your blog SEO

Use Keywords in Image Name

Have you download an image from internet or click them from your camera to use them into your blog posts? Yes! Wait buddy don't use them directly into your blog. First change their name into a keyword rich image name. By default image name look like this image1432.jpg or photo123.jpg. Always rename them with your post keyword. For example if I use any image for this post then I'll rename my image like this image-optimization.jpg.

Hyphen in Image Name

Remember when naming your images with your keywords neither use blank space nor underscore ( _ ) between them. Always use hyphen to separate the keywords like I have done in the first example. Because when your use blank space it will automatically convert to '%20' which have no meaning. In result web crawlers found difficulty to understand the image. Hyphen is always a better option for optimizing the image.

Use Best Format

There are lot of formats of images like JPG, PNG, GIF and others. But always use that image format which suits better for web. JPG image format is the most preferable image format by the webmasters because it uses less size memory as compare to other formats. Less image size will help you to reduce blog load time and hence better search engine ranking means more traffic.

Compress Images

Before uploading the images into your blog post, first remember that you have compressed them. Compressing the image also help to make your blog loading speed faster and reduce blog bounce rate. You can compress your images in Photoshop. To compress your image in Photoshop go to file menu and click on save for web. It will reduce image size by maintaining the image quality.
Also you can use online tools to compress your image files. One of the best tool is Yahoo Smush it. Go for it and compress your images for free.

How to Use Images in Blog Post for Better Search Engine Visibility?

Proper Dimension

When you upload your images into blog post, always give them proper dimensions. Mentioning the dimensions help in faster page loading. Web crawlers don't get confuse to assume its width and height. If you already give dimensions to your image, then it will be easier for web crawlers to better crawl your content. Use below format to give dimensions to your image.

<img width="320" height="210" src="URL of image"/>

Change above highlighted values according to your need.

Title Tag and Alt Tag

Title tag and Alt tag works as a description for your images. Web crawlers can't read images. They only understand them by their name, title tag and Alt tag. Always choose your best keyword to give title and alt tag for your image. To use these tags see the below example.

<img src="Image URL" title="Keyword" alt="Keyword"/>

Note: Don't add too many keywords in these tags. Only put your best keyword there which better explain your post topic.

Depois de ter criado a sua conta vá em Sign in to use the tools;
