How To Submit Blogger Sitemap To Google Webmaster Tools?

To be successful in your blogging career you must have to generate decent organic traffic to your blog. By the term "organic traffic" I mean the traffic which comes to your blog through search engines like Google. If you are a new blogger then you should be aware with the Google Webmaster Tools. This is a great tool which is provided by Google itself. It helps your blog being indexed in Google and improve its crawling rate. You just need to verify your blog ownership in Google Webmaster Tools and then submit a simple sitemap. It is very important to submit blogger sitemap to Google in terms of SEO which tells Google about your blog and its content. Submit Blogger Sitemap To Google Webmaster Tools

Below are some easy steps you have to go through in terms to submit your blogspot blog sitemap.

Sign in to Google Webmaster Tools.
Click on the blog title for which you want to add sitemap.
Click on sitemap button as shown below.

At the top right corner of the page, press Add/Test sitemap button.

Once you click on the button, a small box will appear as shown in the screenshot below.

Add the below code in the text field.

atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500

This is the sitemap code for your blogger blog which you need to add.

Press "Submit Sitemap" button.
Refresh the page.

Congratulation! You have finish the process of submitting your blog sitemap.

Note: The above sitemap will work for 500 posts only. If you have more than 500 posts published in your blog, then you have to add one more sitemap. Whole procedure will be same but at this time you have to add this code.

Google Webmaster Tools Verification Tips For Blogger

Every newbie bloggers, when starts their blogging career might be have a dream to get lot of traffic to their blog. But with lack of proper SEO knowledge, their dreams not come true. Success of a blog or website is totally depends on the traffic they are receiving from search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo. Submitting your blog into these major search engines should be your first step while optimizing it for search engines. Submitting your blog is the process which tells search engines about your new blog. All search engines have their own webmaster tool which is used for blog verification. But, you should submit your blog into Google first because Google is the top one search engine. This is the topic of our today's post. I will tell you how to submit blogger blog in Google by using Google Webmaster Tool.

Google Webmaster Tools Verification Process

To submit and verify your blog into Google Webmaster Tool, simply follow these steps carefully.

Go to Google Webmaster Tools.
Login with your same gmail account which you are using for your blogger blog.
Click on "Add a Site" button.
Enter your blog URL in the box appears like:

www.your-blog-url.blogspot.com

Click continue.
Now you have to verify your site ownership. This can be done by two methods. "Recommended Methods" and "Alternate Methods".
Click on "Alternate Methods".
Now, you will get three options to verify your blog. Choose HTML tag.
A Meta Tag will be given to you. Just Copy it. Meta tag will look like this

Now log in to your Blogger account into another tab. (Don't close webmaster tool tab).
Click on your blog title and choose template option from the left.
Backup your Blog Template before making any changes.
Click Edit HTML ---> Proceed ---> Expand Widget Templates.
Press Ctrl + F and search <head> tag in your template.
Paste the Meta Tag you copied below/after <head> tag.
Click "Save Template" button.
Now, go back to your webmaster account and press verify button.
Once you click on verify button, you will receive a confirmation message that you have successfully verified.

Submit your Sitemap to ASK

Ask does not have an URL submit feature. Until recently, you could submit your sitemap to them. But Ask.com has now retired this feature and says they will be crawling sites instead. So, the next best thing is to add a directive in your robots.txt file that specifies auto-discovery of the XML sitemap.

Submit Your URL to bing

1. Go to the following link: http://www.bing.com/docs/submit.aspx
2. Enter the captcha text shown in the box
3. Type in your URL, example: http://www.yoursite.com
4. Select “Submit URL”

Submit your URL to Yahoo

1. Go to the following link: http://search.yahoo.com/info/submit.html
2. Click on “Submit Your Site for Free”
3. You will be redirected to Bing. Follow the on-screen instructions for submitting your URL.

Submit Your URL to Google

1. Go to the following link: http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl
2. Type in your URL, example: http://www.yoursite.com
3. Enter comments about your site. This is optional. Usually I enter the genre of the site and a few keywords. Example: Website design in Hollister, CA.
4. Enter the captcha text shown in the box
5. Select “Add URL”
