23 Blog Directories To Submit Your Blog To

Gaining exposure for your blog is critical to building a following and revenue. After creating compelling copy, titles, descriptions and link strategies, it’s time to list your blog in one or more directories.
There are many paths to building links, such as link baiting or blogroll-link swapping, but few are as easy to implement and cost effective as submitting to blog directories. And good link juice makes for a growing blog.

Here are 24 directories you need to know about:
    1. Best of the Web Blog Search remains a powerful tool for sharing your blog, especially since this director’s very selective, listing only mature and valuable blogs. A link from here is majestic.
    2. Bloggeries is one of the most respected blog directories. The layout is clear and concise, and readers are able to find what they are looking for in a snap.
    3. EatonWeb Blog Directory is a powerful list. The fee, currently $34.99, pays for a review of your blog.
    4. OnToplist.com is a free, manually-edited directory that reads the RSS feed of your blog. You can also use the site’s social features, article directory, and other great tools to build your blog.
    5. Blogged.com is an interesting mix of a directory and a Google News type site that is fed by the blogs listed with Blogged. And it’s free to list your blog.
    6. While the design and infrastructure have changed somewhat over the years, Blog Search Engine remains one of the most selective blog directories on the web. Membership has its privileges.
    7. Blog Catalog features a vast number of categories, from “academic” to “writing”, while offering the ability to search by country, language or user. It has a no-frills design, but offers convenient access through a simple blog registration.
    8. Globe of Blogs has too many features to list. Only non-commercial blogs are accepted. The site may be busy, but I like being able to narrow my search by title, author or subject.
    9. The ultimate directory of British blogs isn’t focused on location, but on the culture. It is asked that bloggers be genuinely “Britished.”
    10. Blog Universe has a layout that’s easy to navigate and, although the content is limited, it’s an all-around good directory worthy of submission.
    11. Bigger Blogs is intertwined with a business directory and an article directory, giving you access to several powerful tools in one location.

We’ll give you an evaluation of your site, its goals, and which hosting service we recommend as being best suited for your unique needs. Oftentimes, the site you want us to build and/or manage for you will determine the best hosting choice. We don’t provide commercial hosting services directly, but we will facilitate them for you.

Re-design and Update services are also available for existing websites. We like to take a look at what you already have, re-evaluate the goals for your website, then make some twists and tweaks that will give your site a fresh look and some updated functionality; usually we shoot for more interaction with your site’s visitors.
In both new and update projects, we go through a development consultation to identify how your website fits into your business plan.
Launching your site is also part of what we do for you; develop, design, build, launch (and manage, if you like) are all actions you can expect when you ask us to handle your website project.

    How To Find Keywords

    What is a keyword?

A term or a phrase used by a searcher to find information on a particular topic is called a keyword. Keyword selection or keyword research is the process of identifying and scrutinizing different prospective keywords to select the right ones for your content. It is an indispensable piece of your online success.
Keep in mind that although the term itself is most often used and interpreted as a reference to a single word, rarely have we seen that one word drives the success of any content. Good keywords are actually a string of 2-6 keywords; that string may also constitute a phrase. Thus, you’ll hear the terms “keyword” and “keyword phrase” used interchangeably. You should always be striving to identify and use keyword phrases.
Keywords and keyword phrases are the terms that are specifically implemented in website content. Certain keywords are chosen based on their search popularity, level of competition, and their estimated cost per click (CPC). Finding keywords for your content can be tough in the beginning, but once you learn where to look, it will become second nature.

What are the best free keyword tools?

Google has built one of the most informative tools for advertisers and publishers alike, and it’s an excellent place to start looking for keywords.
With Google Insights for Search, you can compare search volume patterns across specific regions, categories, time frames and properties. This is great for finding related keywords that might not be quite as obvious as what you have your mind set on.
Google Insights also provides you with a list of related keywords and key phrases that people have been searching for on Google, as well as keyword trends. This is important.   -Scott Kindred, SafeHouse Web
    Google Search Engine
    http://www.google.com
An obvious but sometimes overlooked resource. You can also find keywords using Google’s search engine, or test the popularity of the keywords you have selected with the AdWords tool or the Insights tool. Visit Google’s homepage to use their search engine – Google.com – and type in your keywords, one at a time. As Google “completes” your possible search term, based on popularity, take note of how it compares to your desired keywords. For example, if the keyword you enter is “cowboys,” Google suggest terms like “cowboys and indians” or “mama don’t let your babies grow up to be cowboys” (o.k., that’s an exaggeration, but you get the point) in the drop-down box.
Because these results are based on popularity, it’s a very good way to find potential keywords and to check the ones you’ve found with other tools.

    What’s Next?

Once you have a set of keywords that speak to your target audience then the next step is to write; populate your content, your ads and your blog. Use them on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Rember that this is an essential part of your business’ branding.
Use them wisely and naturally in your writing voice – otherwise your content will be poor and unattractive, the search engine robots will see that you’re “stuffing” your keywords and will penalize your website, and your car may not start in the morning (o.k., that’s another exaggeration, but you get the point).

    Submit your Sitemap to ASK

Ask does not have an URL submit feature. Until recently, you could submit your sitemap to them. But Ask.com has now retired this feature and says they will be crawling sites instead. So, the next best thing is to add a directive in your robots.txt file that specifies auto-discovery of the XML sitemap.
